The “Revolutionizing Healthcare Series 02: Exploring Global Trends in Drug Development and Pharma Evolution” was held on March 4th, 2025, at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University (DSU), Tamil Nadu, Trichy, and it brought together professionals, researchers, and students from various pharmaceutical and healthcare fields. The conference aimed to discuss the latest trends in drug development and the evolution of the pharmaceutical industry, with 494 participants attending.
The event began with registration, followed by the inaugural ceremony led by Dr. Akilandeswari S, Dean of the School of Pharmacy at DSU. The ceremony included the presentation of several awards. Among them, Shri. A. Srinivasan, Chief Patron and Founder Chancellor of DSU, was honoured with the Appreciation Award for his continuous support and leadership in shaping the university’s vision.
Additionally, Dr. TNK. Suriyaprakash received the Best Achiever Award, Dr. P. Balakumar Pitchai was honored with the Best Researcher Award, and Dr. R. Sampath Kumar and Prof. Dr. T. Shri Vijaya Kirubha were awarded the Best Teacher Awards. Mrs. M. Chitra was awarded the Best Pharmacist Award, while Ms. A. Shifana and Ms. E. Jeevitha received the Best B.Pharm Student Award and Best D.Pharm Student Award, respectively.
The conference included three enlightening sessions led by renowned experts. Prof. Rajiv Dahiya, Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and former Director at the School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, delivered the first session on “Cyclic Polypeptides of Natural Origin: Chemistry and Pharmacological Aspects”. His session highlighted the chemical structures and pharmacological potentials of cyclic polypeptides derived from natural sources.
The second session, chaired by Dr. Rajinikanth, featured Prof. Palanisamy Selvamani, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at Anna University, BIT Campus, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. He discussed “Advancing Healthcare through Technology: Exploring Virtual Tools and Techniques”, focusing on how virtual tools and technologies are transforming healthcare and pharmaceutical research.
The third session, chaired by Dr. Sabitha R, featured Prof. D. Akiladevi, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics at Vels University (VISTAS), Chennai. Prof. Akiladevi’s presentation, “Nanofibers in Drug Delivery: Advances in Controlled Release Strategies”, explored the emerging role of nanofibers in drug delivery systems and how they are revolutionizing controlled release mechanisms in pharmaceuticals.
An exciting aspect of the conference was the E-Poster Presentation, where 64 e-posters were displayed, showcasing the latest research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Best E-Poster Awards were given to the most outstanding research, recognizing the innovative work of the participants.
The conference concluded with the Valedictory Ceremony, where Dr. S. Brito Raj, Professor and Organizing Secretary of the event, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing his gratitude to the speakers, participants, and organizers for their contributions to the success of the event. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
The “Revolutionizing Healthcare Series 02” provided a significant platform for knowledge exchange, recognition of excellence, and the fostering of innovative ideas in drug development and pharmaceutical sciences. The conference sessions, along with the awards and e-poster presentations, contributed to the continued evolution of the healthcare and pharmaceutical landscape.
