About Hostel

Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University - Trichy Campus, facilitate separate hostels for boys and girls with good infrastructure. The aesthetically designed modern hostels provide home atmosphere. All the rooms have enough space and furnished with adequate facilities.

Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods are provided in a hygienic way. Separate food for Andhra, Kerala and North-Indians are also provided. Medical service is available 24 hours a day.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR HOSTELLERS

Allotment of Rooms

  • Allotment of rooms shall be made by the Deputy Wardens under the orders of Warden.

  • Only fixed number of students is allowed to accommodate in a room. Change of room is strictly avoided.

  • Inmates of the hostel must necessarily attend the classes on all working days following the University timings both in the forenoon and afternoon sessions.

  • No student is allowed to be in the room on any working day without prior written permission from the Deputy Warden.

  • If any student is found to be in the hostel without written permission from the Deputy Warden, during the working day of the University, necessary disciplinary action will be initiated.

  • Once a room is allocated to a student in the hostel, he/she should not exchange his/her room with any other resident under any circumstances.

  • No other student studying in the University should be permitted to stay in the hostel. If found so, stringent action will be initiated against the defaulters.


Maintaining Discipline

  • Students can go outing once in a week, if necessary with prior permission (Out Pass) from the respective deputy wardens. Students should sign in the outing register before leaving and after returning every time.

  • Students should provide the letter to warden before getting out pass and while returning back they should co-operate with security for checking.

  • Students are strictly instructed not to stay in hostel during college hours without the prior permission from Deans and deputy warden.

  • Any damage/breakage to hostel property will be charged to the occupants of the room / block with a fine. Disciplinary action will also be initiated.

  • All the rooms, doors and windows should be kept neat and tidy. A fine amount will be charged for disfiguring of doors, glass panels and walls of rooms from the resident(s) of the room in addition to the amount needed for repairing and repainting the above.

  • Students should keep the toilets and bathrooms clean, failing which a collective fine will be collected from the residents of the respective wings/floors.

  • Inmates are instructed to switch off the lights and fans when they go out of the rooms, to save electric power.

  • Guests / Visitors are not permitted to enter any rooms allotted to the residents.

  • If any misuse of computers and mobile phones in hostel rooms is brought to notice of Hostel authorities the respective resident(s) will be expelled from the hostel.

  • Students should not arrange any functions or meeting within the hostel / college campus, without prior permission from the Dean / Deputy Warden.

  • Any student who is removed from the college will automatically cease to be a member of the hostel.

  • No student should stay away from the hostel on any day without the prior permission of the concerned Deputy Warden / Dean.

  • Abnormal activities of any nature causing disturbance to neighbors should not be carried out in the rooms.

  • Students should not paste any posters /pictures etc on the walls, doors, windows and shelves. Cut-outs should not be placed or brought in the hostel.

  • Student should not keep large amount of cash or costly items like camera, Electronic gadgets, jewellery etc. in their rooms. The hostel management will no way be responsible for any loss/ theft. It is the responsibility of the students concerned to keep their belongings safe and secured in the hostel.

  • Students should not keep Mopeds, Motor cycles, Scooters and Cars in the hostel premises.

  • Inmates, who fall sick, may kindly inform the Deputy Warden at once, and the fellow inmates are advised to extend all support on such occasions.

  • The hostel will be personally inspected by the Deputy Warden and other authorities regularly. The residents will be subjected to severe disciplinary action if they fail to follow above mentioned rules and regulations.

  • The Roll call may be practiced after 8.30 p.m

  • A Calling-Bell alert shall be given to the inmates both at the start and closing time of mess-hours and reading time.

Prohibited Practices

  • Smoking / Alcohol / Tobacco/ Drug consumption is strictly prohibited in the University and hostel premises. Students found indulging in such habits within the premises will face disciplinary action.

  • All visitors shall have to sign their names showing relationship with the resident concerned in the register available with the security on duty.

  • Only visitors, approved by the parents, are permitted to visit the inmates in the girls' hostel.

  • Possession of combustible fire arms or lethal weapons by the hostel inmates or by any residents, are strictly prohibited.

  • Inmates are not allowed to use extra electrical fitting in their rooms.

  • Students are not allowed to take food, tea / coffee and snacks to their room.

  • Food will be served only in their own plate only. No sharing of plates will be allowed.

  • Students should not leave the waste on the dining Table.

  • After holidays students should inform their deputy wardens in advance regarding their arrival to avail food.

  • Ragging is strictly prohibited in the hostel premises as well. Ill- treatment of fellow inmates in any form is punishable.

  • Unnecessary noise or music causing inconvenience to inmates is strictly prohibited within the hostel premises.

  • Playing in the rooms / corridor by the hostel inmates is strictly not permitted.

General Rule

  • All the representations, issues, grievances, if any should be brought to the notice of the Hostel Warden immediately.

Dress Code

  • Hostel inmates, both boys and girls, should follow a decent dress code in a manner, particularly while visiting the mess-dining hall. This is to avoid any kind of embarrassment to the workers, which might sometimes lead to cause insecurity for girls in particular.

Note:

  • Students should eat only in hostel dining hall. Students will not be allowed to take the food to their room.

  • Students should not avail food after 9.00 p.m from outside.

  • Hostel wardens / Securities are authorized to check the food at any point.

  • Violations if any will be viewed seriously.

  • Prior intimation to the deputy warden is mandatory, while ordering for food from outside. This will avoid unnecessary wastage of food.

  • The menu followed in subject to change depending on the availability of the stock in the store.

  • If the food mentioned in the menu is not available, alternate food will be provided.

  • Mess time should be followed strictly.

Such experiences enrich the lives of students and help them fulfill their potential. Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are planned and executed through a number of associations, clubs, societies and student's chapters of professional bodies. They are managed by representatives of students and are monitored by the faculty in-charge.

Hostel Fee - Refund Policy

If a student decides not to avail the hostel facility and request for not availing the hostel facility is received within one week before the commencement of the classes in the academic year.Rs.5000/- will be deducted and the balance Hostel fee will be refunded.
If request for vacating the hostel is received within one week after the commencement of the classes in the academic year.50% of the Annual hostel fee will be refunded.
If request for vacating the hostel is received after one week of the commencement of the classes in the academic year.No Refund is permitted

Note:

i) No Refund is permitted, if the student is terminated from the University.

Campus Amenities

Mess Facility (Girls)

A large Mess Hall with a capacity of 2000 members to dine at the same time enables all students to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. A large modern kitchen with oven/steam cooking is attached to the mess hall. A modern bakery and ice-cream making unit are attached to the mess. There is a separate floor one each for South Indian and North Indian in the Mess Block to dine.

Cafeteria

In DS campus, spacious cafeterias are located at distinct zones, with a view of greenery all around, and a variety of refreshments and meals are made available. It tends to be the most popular place on campus, not only for physical refreshment but also for student bonding, discussion and even work on assignments and projects.

We understand that a healthy diet is important for growing bodies and minds. The canteen menu provides an emphasis on fresh and healthy food with plenty of variety. The Menu changes throughout the year and often includes daily specials that are made on site. Breakfast is available from 8.00am.

Internet and Intranet

DS University, Trichy - Campus has a dedicated internet lab working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We give free internet access to our students. We have upto 300 Mbps Internet leased line connectivity.

Security

24 hours private security force for institute and separately for Hostels (Boys and Girls).
