PLASTER OF PARIS (PoP) WORKSHOP - 16-11-2024
As part of the syllabus, School of Architecture organized an engaging and hands-on
workshop on Plaster of Paris (PoP) for its first-year architecture students on 16th November 2024.
The workshop aimed to introduce students to the versatile material, exploring its applications in architectural modeling, sculpting, and casting. Through this workshop students were able to
- Gain insight into the properties and uses of Plaster of Paris in architectural practice.
- Learn basic techniques for moulding and casting using PoP.
- Create architectural models and decorative elements.
- Understand the material's role in both conceptual and final architectural presentations.
The Plaster of Paris workshop was a resounding success, providing first-year architecture students with a valuable introduction to a versatile and essential material. The event helped foster both creativity and technical skill in the students, laying the groundwork for future explorations in material science and architectural modeling.
