The Human Resource Development Centre of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University successfully organized "Mind Matters," a mental wellness awareness program, an inspiring initiative by Zen by Qualcode, on 17 July 2026 at Hall 301, Academic Block. The event commenced with the rendition of Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the traditional Kuthuvilakku lighting ceremony, symbolizing enlightenment, optimism, and new beginnings.
The gathering was warmly welcomed by Dr. B. Vidya, Associate Dean – HRDC, who emphasized the significance of nurturing emotional resilience and psychological well-being among students. Dr. Rekha, Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences, delivered the felicitation address, highlighting the indispensable role of mental health in academic excellence and personal growth.
The keynote session by Ms. Saranya L.K., Head of Psychology, Zen by Qualcode, captivated the audience with insightful discussions on stress management, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, mindfulness, and healthy coping strategies. Through engaging activities and practical examples, participants gained a deeper understanding of cultivating a balanced mindset and sustaining holistic wellness in today's demanding environment.
Students from the departments of CVT (Cardiovascular Technology), CPPT (Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Technology), CLP (Clinical Psychology), RIT (Radiography and Imaging Technology), OTAT (Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology), and AECT (Accident and Emergency Care Technology) actively participated in the program with remarkable enthusiasm.
Their vibrant involvement in interactive discussions, reflective exercises, and collaborative learning sessions enriched the overall experience and demonstrated their commitment to fostering a culture of empathy and mental well-being.
The program served as an enlightening, transformative, and thought-provoking platform, empowering students to prioritize emotional wellness alongside academic achievement. It reinforced the importance of resilience, equanimity, introspection, compassion, and adaptability as essential attributes for future healthcare professionals. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Venkatesh V., Placement Officer – HRDC, expressing gratitude to the organizers, resource person, faculty members, and enthusiastic participants for making the event an outstanding success.
