Helpline : +91 63841 76766 | 63841 76769In commemoration of World Blood Donor Day 2026, the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, School of Allied Health Sciences, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, in association with Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), successfully inaugurated the Blood Donors Club on 13th June 2026 under the inspiring theme “Donate Blood – Save Lives, Be a Hero.” The programme was organized at the Hospital Block with the objective of fostering humanitarian values, social responsibility, and voluntary blood donation among students.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. K. Rekha, Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences; Dr. Pachiammal, Dean, College of Nursing; Dr. Sathyapriya, Dean, School of Nursing; and Dr. Senthil, School of Physiotherapy. A major highlight of the event was the official release of the Blood Donors Volunteers Directory, symbolizing the University's commitment to building a reliable network of lifesaving volunteers.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from 112 students representing various schools of the University. Notably, 65 students voluntarily enrolled in the Blood Donors Volunteers Directory, demonstrating remarkable altruism and a strong commitment to community welfare. Their willingness to contribute to this noble cause reflects the spirit of empathy and civic engagement that the University strives to nurture. The event served as a powerful platform to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and to inspire students to become proactive contributors to public health. The inauguration of the Blood Donors Club marks a significant step toward creating a compassionate campus community dedicated to saving lives through collective action and humanitarian service.
