CYBER JAAGROOKTA DIWAS
REPORT – AWARENESS PROGRAM ON CYBER CRIMES
An “Awareness program on Cyber Crimes” was organized by School of Engineering and Technology, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Samayapuram, Trichy – 621 112 on 21.10.22 (Friday) on the occasion of Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas in association with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) for First Year B. Tech. students. Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University officials - Respected Registrar, Dean – Planning and Development, Dean – Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital and Dean – School of Agricultural Sciences also attended the program. Around 200 Students of 1st year engineering attended the program.
Dr. Sanjay Singh, Dean, SET delivered the Welcome Address and Dr. N. Shanmugapriya, the Organizing Secretary of the program shared a few words about Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas. The Chief Guest of the program was Mr. S. Anbuchelvan, Inspector of Police, Cyber Crime Wing, Trichy and Mr. Satheesh Kumar, Sub Inspector of Police, Cyber Crime Wing, Trichy.
After the introduction of Chief Guest, a detailed presentationwas given about the various Cyber Crimes reported every day and how innocent people are deceived, cheated and robbed. They shared someof the real life stories of victims they have come across in Cyber Crime Wing. They have explained about the Do’s and Don’ts of using Smart Phones and Internet.
At Last, they provide some tips for careful utilization of Internet in Mobile Phones and they have provided a Cyber Crime Help Line Phone number 1930 and advised the students to contact Helpline number if they have any problem and also to inform their relatives and friends. Positive feedback about the program received fromStudents.
Dr. T. Aparna, Assistant Professor, SET delivered the Vote of Thanks and program ended with National Anthem.
