The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, School of Pharmacy, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, organized a hands-on training workshop titled “Integrating Hands-on AutoDock Training with Research Paper Writing: A Practical Approach to Computational Drug Discovery” on 10.04.2026 from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the Academic Block.
The program was conducted to provide practical exposure to computational drug discovery techniques and enhance research paper writing skills among students and faculty participants.
The workshop was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Dr. S. Gomathi, Assistant Professor, J.S.S College of Pharmacy. She delivered an informative and interactive session on molecular docking studies using AutoDock software and explained the significance of computational tools in modern drug discovery research. She also guided the participants on the preparation and publication of quality research papers.
During the hands-on session, participants were trained in ligand preparation, protein selection, docking procedures, result analysis, and interpretation of binding interactions. The session also emphasized scientific writing techniques, manuscript preparation, plagiarism awareness, and publication ethics.
The workshop was highly beneficial for the students, and the faculty provided valuable practical knowledge in the field of computational drug discovery and research methodology. The management, Dean, faculty members, and students expressed their gratitude to the resource person for sharing her expertise and making the program successful.
