The School of Pharmacy, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, celebrated Pongal with great enthusiasm on 9th January 2026, marking the traditional harvest festival of Tamil Nadu. The celebration witnessed active participation from both students and faculty members, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere on campus.
The program commenced with a brief introduction highlighting the cultural and agricultural significance of Pongal, which symbolizes gratitude to nature, farmers, and the Sun God for a bountiful harvest. Students and staff gathered to take part in the traditional rituals associated with the festival.
As part of the celebrations, the traditional Pongal dish was prepared, and students participated in cultural activities such as folk songs, dances, and rangoli (kolam) designs, reflecting the rich heritage of Tamil culture. The campus was decorated with colorful kolams, sugarcane, and festive elements, adding to the spirit of the occasion.
