The Department of Optometry, School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS), Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Trichy, successfully organized Vision X – Monthly Lecture Series No. 1 on 10 January, in observance of World Braille Day, under the guidance of Dr. K. Rekha, Dean, SAHS. The academic programme was conducted by the faculty members of the Department of Optometry. The virtual lecture witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 250 students, faculty members, and optometry professionals from institutions across the country, reflecting the growing interest in collaborative academic initiatives. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Dharani Ramamurthy, Professor of Optometry, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Her session offered valuable insights into contemporary vision care practices and low vision rehabilitation, encouraging active interaction and meaningful discussions among participants. The Vision X Monthly Lecture Series is envisioned as a continuous academic initiative aimed at promoting professional development, interdisciplinary learning, and institutional collaboration in the field of optometry.
