As part of the Breastfeeding Awareness Week 2025 celebrations at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, 15 students from the Allied Health Sciences (AHS) department actively participated in the Counselling Competition.
The Innovative Recipe Contest for Lactating Mothers also drew great attention, encouraging participants to develop nutrient-rich, creative, and easy-to-prepare recipes designed to support lactation. Asst. Prof. Ms. Abinaya Devi K won the 1st Prize for her exceptional and practical recipe contribution.
A special highlight of the week was the Nutrition Counselling Talk for Lactating Mothers, conducted by Mrs. R.M. Karthiga and Ms. Abinaya Devi K. This interactive session offered evidence-based dietary guidance, addressed common challenges faced during lactation, and introduced practical, culturally relevant meal ideas to empower breastfeeding mothers.
The session concluded with a live demonstration and display of innovative, lactation-friendly recipes prepared by students, providing mothers with realistic, nutritious food options to incorporate into their daily meals.
