WORLD KIDNEY DAY - 14th March 2024
The "WORLD KIDNEY DAY" Programme was organized by the Department of Dialysis Technology, School of Allied Health Sciences, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University Samayapuram, Trichy to create an Awareness on kidney health in the theme of “RESURGENCE OF KIDNEYS AFTER FAILURE” in association with Institution innovation council (ICC) On 14th March 2024 in Lecture hall III, 6th floor, between 2pm to 4pm.
The programme commenced with the uplifting notes “TAMIL THAI VALZTHU”, followed by lamp lighting by the dignitaries and chief guest. Ms. Annliya Jelsa Second Year Dialysis Student Addressed & welcomed the gathering present.
Dr. C. K. Ranjan, Vice Chancellor of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University gave the presidential address.He created an impact on the importance of Kidney care.
Dr. Dhanasekar.D, Registrar of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University felicitated our chief guest, Dr. S. Ganesh Aravind MD., DM., DNB., NEPHROLOGIST, SRINIVASAN MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL, Samayapuram, Trichy and presented a memento as a token of gratitude. The students of I & II Year Dialysis Technology performed a colourful classical dance.
Dr. K. Rekha, Associate Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences, gave a lecture on “PHYSIOLOGY OF KIDNEY” and created awareness of kidney health. It was an interactive session with our students of Allied Health sciences.
Followed Dr. Ganesh Aravind (Nephrologist) started his guest lecture on the topic of "Acute kidney injury" and "Chronic kidney disease". Students of Dialysis Technology gain knowledge about various kidney diseases and its stages. His lecture helped the attendees to understand the diagnosis and treatment of RENAL failure.
Additionally, a Mesmerizing MIME Performance on Renal Transplant was done by first year dialysis students.
Finally, the vote of thanks was given by Ms. Sandhiya I Year Department of Dialysis technology. The event ended with the National anthem.
