Onam Celebration - 24th  August 2023

Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Celebrated the Onam festival on the University premises on August 24, 2023, with resounding success. The Occasion was graced by our founder and Chancellor - Shri. A.Srinivasan, Secretary - Mr.P. Neelaraj, Pro-chancellor - Smt. Ananthalakshmi Kathiravan, Future Chairman - Mr. Nirmal Kathiravan, Managing Director - Ms. Neevani Kathiravan, Vice Chancellor - Dr. C. K. Ranjan, Incharge Registrar & Dean Planning and Development - Dr. V. Sekar, including Deans and Assosciate Deans, of various Schools of  Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University. The celebration gave an in-sight into Onam, the most revered ancient festival of Kerala, which is a symbolic of king Mahabali’s annual home coming as well as celebration of the vaman avatar of lord Vishnu.  
                       
It also provided a platform for the Students to experience a Unique Celebration of Secular nature. The festival spirit was brought out by the Athapookolam, the characteristic floral design symbolic of this festival, and the Onam Sadya, a most celebrate and grand meal including 14 traditional dishes which were prepared and served. The culture program includes the Special Onam dance Thiruvathira followed by other performances, all based on Kerala and Onam Celebration. The grand Success of the function was due to the untiring and enthusiastic effort of the students, faculties and Staff under the guidance of Dr.K. Rekha, Associate Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences and Dr. R. Saranya, Associate Dean, College of Nursing, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University.
