The School of Law, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, organized Insights on Legal Research Methodology Programme on 5th August 2023 at 3.15 p.m, Lecture Hall, DSIT Block. Mr. P. Ragu Balan, Assistant Professor, School of Law welcomed the gathering and Mrs. M. Abinaya, Assistant Professor; School of law introduced the speaker Dr. B. Muthu Kumar. The session started with Tamilthai valthu by School of Law students. Dr. Sanjay Singh, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, honoured the Guest. The resource person started the session by introducing the research and legal research. He introduced to the students the different resources available in the library. He also demonstrated the mechanisms of using various kinds of databases in legal research and their usefulness for law students. The speaker attached immense respect to the idea of research and explained how a good research facilitates in the development of the society. He also emphasized on the fact that a good research should be socially relevant and of contemporary nature. The speaker further highlighted the case studies and research scholar attributes includes being scientifically faithful with the research, objectivity, potential to edit the document and ensuring proper acknowledgement of the sources from which relevant ideas have been taken for carrying out the research. The speaker explained all the aspects with the help of illustrations and examples that provided a clearer understanding to the students with regard to the Various concepts that were discussed. The lecture was followed by a question-answer session where the students were given an opportunity to pose questions based on the topic covered. Dr.D.Jothivenkatsan, Associate Professor, School of Law proposed a vote of thanks. The lecture was very well received by the students and the actively participated.
