On August 29, 2024, the Department of Pathology at Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital hosted a Uropathology session focused on bladder tumors. The session commenced at 12:00 pm with a warm welcome and introduction by Professor and HOD, Department of Pathology Dr. Sarada. Following this, Dr. Prabhu Anand, Urologist provided a brief introduction on clinical scenarios of the bladder tumors at Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, introduced the urooncologist, Dr. Shreedhar G.K, who provided valuable clinical insights into the latest diagnostic and treatment modalities in bladder tumors. The session continued with a detailed presentation by Dr. Shreedhar G.K on the clinical aspects of bladder tumors, where he discussed their epidemiology, clinical presentation, and the advancements in imaging and endoscopic techniques. This session was further enriched with inputs from Dr.Vijaya Sarathy, Surgical oncologist and Professor Dr.Rajagopal, Department of General Surgery.This was followed by a guest lecture from Uropathologist Dr. Remani Manojkumar, who focused on the Pathology of bladder tumors, highlighting histopathological features, molecular pathology, and emerging markers. An interactive session ensued, allowing participants to engage with the speakers through questions and case discussions, emphasizing the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing bladder tumors. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr.Fathima and Dr.Vivitha, expressing gratitude to the speakers and attendees for their participation. The session ended with scrumptious lunch at 1:30 pm, providing an opportunity for further informal discussions.
