Tamil Ilakkiya Mandram, under the aegis of Students' Affairs, organized Muthamizh Vizha 2024 on 01.04.2024, in Seminar Hall, SET Block at 2.30 pm. The auspicious event was organized to pay tribute to Tamil, the oldest language with wealthiest literature and beautiful pronunciations. The event commenced with Tamil Thai Vazthu, followed by lamp lighting by dignitaries and welcome address by Ms. E. Gayathri, III year, BPT. Dr Dhanasekaran Devaraj, Registrar offered felicitations. Then Mr. RS Sri Raj Haran, III year B. Sc., Agri, introduced the chief guest of the day Dr. Guru. Aranganathan. The Registrar, Associate Dean Students’ Affairs Dr. Pathma J and
Faculty coordinator of Tamil Illakiya Mandram Dr. R. Meganathan honored the chief guest, Dr. Guru. Aranganathan Former Professor and Head, Department of Social Sciences, Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute, Trichy. He delivered a mind-blowing speech about the important credentials and beauty of Tamil language and the richness of Tamil literature. He also motivated the students to have high aspirations and work to achieve it. He distributed the prizes to the winners of Elocution and poetry recitation competitions held on the occasion of Muthamizh vizha 2024 celebrations. This was followed by performance of cultural
events by the students which reflected the three aspects of Tamil literature namely Iyal, Isai and Nadagam. Ms. J Berlin Mersha III B.Sc., Nursing offered vote of thanks. The program was coordinated by Dr. Pathma J, Associate Dean, Students’ Affairs, and Dr. R. Meganathan, Faculty coordinator of Tamil Illakiya Mandram and executed by the student Secretary Sri Vigneswaran III year, B. Tech Cyber security and other student members from various schools. Dean’s, Associate Deans, faculty members and students from various Schools participated in this event.
