International Women's Day - 08th March 2024

Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Trichy celebrated the International Women's Day - 2024 on 08th March. This vibrant celebration of was organized by Gender Champions' Club under the Aegis of Students' Affairs. This Program began with "Tamil Thai Vazhthu". Dr. J. Pathma, Associate Dean, Students' Affairs welcomed the gathering. Vice Chancellor Dr. C. K. Ranjan offered Presidential Address. The Registrar Dr. D. Dhanasekaran offered felicitations. Deans and Associate Deans of various Schools were among the dignitaries present. The Chief Guest Dr. G. Poongothai,  Deputy Director - Medical, Rural Health Services and Family Welfare, Dindugul District addressed the gathering. This was followed by English elocution and Tamil poem recitation by students on the importance of accelerating gender equality through economic empowerment. The cultural segment featured mesmerizing semiclassical and fusion dances, showcasing the talents of the students. The day further unfolded with captivating performances of advanced yoga and outstanding silambam demonstrations by female students, exemplifying their strength and agility. The event culminated in a joyous prize distribution ceremony, where outstanding achievers of elocution and poetry recitation competition were recognized and applauded. More than 250 female students and faculty members  participated in the celebrations. Dr. R. Sathiyapriya, Nodal Teacher - Gender Champions' proposed vote of thanks and the program ended with National Anthem. The celebration underscored our collective responsibility in promoting gender equality and breaking down barriers hindering women's progress.
