Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University Orchestrates Grand Inaugural Annual Hackathon "DSU-Hack-O-Verse ‘24", Unveiling 350 Student Innovators across Disciplines
In a remarkable display of academic prowess and collaborative spirit, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University proudly hosted an Inaugural Annual hackathon, DSU Hack-O-Verse ‘24 that convened 350 student innovators from diverse disciplines. This landmark event, under the visionary leadership of Dr. C. K. Ranjan, Vice Chancellor and Dr. A. Thulasi, Registrar (i/c) and Dean of Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, was inaugurated by the distinguished Chief Guest Dr. C. Vanniarajan, Director, Trichy Agribusiness Incubation Forum (EDII - TABIF), adding a significant layer of expertise and motivation to the participating students.
Guided by the astute leadership of Dr. R. Nagarajaprakash, Associate Dean, Centre for Research, who served as the convener, and with organizational finesse provided by Dr. N. Shanmugapriya, Vice President of the Institute Innovation Council (IIC), and Dr. O. S. Asiq Rahman, Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship & Pre-incubation Cell (E-Cell) at DSU, as organizing secretaries, the hackathon unfolded seamlessly within the academic precincts of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University.
The event commenced on an electrifying note, as students were privileged to receive mentorship from the successful startup founders. Mr. Prabhu Karuppanan, Project Associate, StartupTN, Dr. Sivakumar Muthusamy, Co-Founder & CTO, Ariviya Deeptech, Ms. Madhu Nachammai, Founder and CEO of The Thenus, Mr. Praveenraj, COO at TechVoyager, and Mr. Mohamed Ithyas, Founder and CEO of Robotian, graciously shared their insights and expertise with the budding innovators.
The zenith of the hackathon witnessed the esteemed presence of Mr. Prabakaran Krishna, Founder & CEO of GoGreenVerz, as the chief guest. Themes explored during the event spanned a wide spectrum of cutting-edge topics, including blockchain, agritech, food tech, healthcare tech, edutech, robotics and drones, smart city, IoT, cybersecurity renewable and sustainable resources, clean energy, environmental, etc.
A crowning achievement was attained by the project led by Uday Kiran, Ramana Kumar, Nitish, and Praveen, showcasing outstanding innovation in blockchain (Azadnet- Twin Protocol, ATOP). The team secured the first position, earning a substantial cash prize and seed funding amounting to1 lakh. Niranjan S and Naveen M claimed the second position with their innovative project on surveillance using drones, while the third position was jointly held by Gunti Sneha, Karanam Thanmai, and Karri Srilatha for their commendable road safety initiative. Both teams were awarded a cash prize and seed fund totaling 1.25 lakhs.
We are pleased to share that we successfully distributed the seed fund award letters to the DSU Hack-O-Verse '24 winners, acknowledging their outstanding achievements and supporting their future endeavours. This is a moment of pride and joy for the entire DSU. Dr. C. K. Ranjan,Vice Chancellor, Dr. Dhanasekaran Devaraj, Registrar, Dr. Nagarajaprakash, Associate Dean - Centre for Research & Accreditation and Dr. O. S. Asiq Rahman, E-Cell Coordinator was present, acknowledging the outstanding achievements of our students and encouraging them to continue pushing boundaries and exploring new horizons.
