After registration, the meeting was started with the Tamil Thai Valthu. Chief guests of the meeting including the Dean, SMCH along with the HOD, pharmacology and speakers of the session lighted the lamp (kuthu villakku).
Welcome address was given by the Dr. S.THAMILARASI.M.D, HOD, Department of Pharmacology followed by the felicitation address delivered by the Dean, SMCH Dr. A. THULASI. M.S. DGO.
Dr. L. MUTHUMANI, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, KAPV Medical College, Trichy spoke on “Seizures In Adults”.
Dr. V. PRIYADHARSHINI, senior resident, Department of Physiology, SMCH spoke on "Normal and Abnormal EEG Waves"
Dr. A. HARI PRAVEEN, senior resident, Department of Paediatrics, SMCH spoke on “Seizures In Pediatrics”
Dr. T. AMRUTHRAJASARANYA, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, SMCH spoke on “Seizures Drugs are Notorious for ADR, How to Minimize It?”
Dr. V. RAVIKUMAR, Professor and Head , Department of Neurology, Tanjore Medical College spoke on “Modern Concepts In The Management Of Seizures”
The session ended after some questions answered by the guest speaker. He was honored by both DR.MALLIGA & Dr. THAMILARASI, Professors of Pharmacology.
After the scientific sessions, Quiz program was conducted by Dr. MALLIGA, Professor of Pharmacology, SMCH . Willing participants from the audience were divided into 4 groups and the competition was conducted followed by prize distribution to the 1st place winning team.
The Programme came to an end after the vote of thanks given by Dr. G. NAGA KARTHIK, Department of Pharmacology, SMCH followed by the National Anthem.
