Helpline : +91 63841 76766 | 63841 76769In View Of “World Cancer Day” (February 4th), an ORAL CANCER SYMPOSIUM entitled “KNOWN UNKNOWN AND BEYOND” was organised by the Department Of Dentistry, Srinivasan Medical College And Hospital, Samayapuram on 3rd and 4th February 2023. The entire program was conducted under the banner of Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon of India, Tamilnadu and Pondicherry Chapter (AOMSI), Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Tamilnadu and Pondicherry Chapter (IAOMR), Indian Dental Association (IDA) and also in association with Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan dental College and Hospital, Siruvachur. There was more than 250 participants from various Dental College of different states of South India who were undergraduates, postgraduates, staffs and private dental practitioners.
The function was inaugurated by the guest of honour Prof. Dr. K. Rajasigamani, MDS, Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, GDC Cuddalore in presence of Vice Chancellor Dr. C. K. Ranjan and the Registrar Dr. M. Ravichandran. The Dean of Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, Dr. A. Thulasi welcomed and addressed the gathering. The guest of honour was felicitated by principal of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Dental College, Dr. Sivakumarkailasam.
The symposium had 28 thought provoking lecture on importance of early diagnosis, novel diagnostic aids, recent advances in various treatment modalities and researches on prevention of oral cancer by various famous national speakers who were the expert in the field. The session was chaired by various stalwart and had more enthusiastic and thought provoking discussion by the experts and participants.
E-Poster Competition and Medal Examination was conducted and the best participants were awarded .The symposium was valued 12 credit points by Dental council of India (DCI).
