Helpline : +91 63841 76766 | 63841 76769The Department of Anatomy, Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, conducted the Cadaveric Oath Ceremony for the new batch (2022-2023) of MBBS students on Wednesday.
A Cadaveric Oath is a pledge that a medical student takes before touching the cadaver in the dissection hall. The students took the oath to affirm their gratitude to the family that donated the cadaver and promise that they will always be respectful and treat the cadaver with the highest dignity at all times.
The event’s chief guest Dr. C. K. Ranjan, Vice Chancellor, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, welcomed the students and asked them to aspire to be thorough professionals while serving the needy.
Dr. A. Thulasi, Dean & Professor of Surgery, welcomed the gathering and addressed the students and stated that the subject of Anatomy should be treated as the foundation of their studies and should be pursued well and students should get their doubts clarified immediately with the faculty in the classroom or laboratory and to respect the Cadavers.
Dr. M. Ravichandran, Registrar and Dr. V. Sekar, Dean, Planning & Development, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University graced the occasion by their presence.
Dr. M. Ravichandran, Professor and Head, Department of Anatomy, Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital recited the Oath followed by the students. He said that the Department would focus on developing emotional and psychological strengths among the students which will enable them to deal with the cadavers in a mature, professional manner.
Various schools Dean, HOD, Faculty, staff and students took part in the ceremony. The program was ended with Vote of thanks by Dr. A. Perumal, Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy.
