World Diabetes Day- Guest Lecture on Diabetes
In commemoration of World Diabetes Day on l Qth$ November, a guest lecture on Diabetes was held on November 18, 2022 from 10 am to l2noon, by the Department of Medicine in the Medicine Demonstration hall, Srinivasan Medical College, Trichy. Fifty delegates actively participated in the session. The meeting started with Thamizh thai Vazhthu. Welcome address and introduction of speakers was done by Prof.P.Kariagaraj,MD, Professor and Head of the Department of Medicine.
The guest speakers delivered the special lectures on Diabetes. Prof.G.Prakash,MD, Head of Department of Diabetology, Govt. Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Salemdelivered a speech on the topic: Oea1 Anti-diabetic drags and louullo in z anageznent of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Prof. D. VijayaraJu, Professor of Medicine, Govt. Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Salem delivered a lecture on the topic: fitandarda of Medical care In Diabetes-ADA recom xendations 2022.The participants asked various questions regarding practical selection of oral antidiabetic drugs in different set of diabetic patients which was well explained by the speakers.One delegate asked about the role of AGP-Ambulatory Glucose Pmfile in management of diabetics, which was explained in detail by Pmf.Prakash.
The guest speakers were felicitated with shawls and mementos by Prof.P.Kanagaraj,MD. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Vivekananthan, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Srinivasan Medical College. The advice and enthusiastic guidance was given by our respected Dean, Pmf. A. Thulasi, MS., helped us to successfully conduct the meeting. The meeting ended with National Anthem.
