The Department of Optometry observed Cataract Awareness Day on 19.06.2025, with Dr. Vinoth Arunaachalam, Vinoth Eye Care Hospital, Trichy, as the Chief Guest.
The program featured a comprehensive lecture on cataract, followed by a glaucoma screening with spectacles for attendees. To enhance community awareness, the event also included an engaging awareness act and an informative video presentation on cataract prevention and treatment options.
The initiative successfully combined education, screening, and awareness to promote the importance of early detection and timely treatment of cataract and related eye conditions.
