As part of the 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week 2025 celebrations, the School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacology, in association with the V Semester B.Pharm students, successfully organized an Outreach Program on Pharmacovigilance on 18th September 2025 at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Manachanallur. The theme for the program was “Your Safety, Just a Click Away: Report to PvPI.”
The primary objective of this outreach activity was to spread awareness about the importance of Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting and to highlight the role of the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) in promoting patient safety. The students actively engaged with the school community, conducting interactive sessions, demonstrations, and awareness talks that simplified the concept of pharmacovigilance for the general audience.
Through this initiative, the participants were sensitized to the significance of timely ADR reporting and the availability of user-friendly digital platforms for reporting drug-related issues. The event not only enhanced the knowledge of the school students but also provided our pharmacy students with a valuable opportunity to develop communication skills, social responsibility, and confidence in promoting public health.
The outreach program was well-received and served as a meaningful step towards strengthening community awareness on safe medicine practices. It truly reflected the spirit of the Pharmacovigilance Week theme, reinforcing the message that ensuring patient safety is just a click away.
