5th National Pharmacovigilance Week celebration 2025 – Day 1
As part of the observance of Pharmacovigilance Week 2025, the School of Pharmacy, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, organized an Essay Competition on 17th September 2025. The theme for the competition was “Digital Reporting in Pharmacovigilance: A Step Towards Safer Medicines.” The event aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting and the transformative role of digital innovations in strengthening drug safety.
A total of 41 enthusiastic students participated in the competition, presenting their ideas, insights, and perspectives on how digital platforms and technology-driven tools can improve pharmacovigilance practices. The essays reflected the students’ understanding of global trends in digital health, the role of pharmacists in ensuring medication safety, and innovative strategies for enhancing patient well-being through real-time reporting systems.
The competition provided students with an excellent opportunity to express their creativity, critical thinking, and awareness of current advancements in pharmacovigilance. The panel of judges appreciated the depth of thought, originality, and clarity displayed in the submissions.
The event concluded with words of encouragement from the faculty, highlighting the significance of pharmacovigilance in shaping a safer healthcare system. Day 1 of Pharmacovigilance Week thus set the tone for a series of engaging academic activities, fostering a culture of awareness and responsibility among future pharmacy professionals.
