Chess Champions 2K25: A Celebration of Strategy and Sportsmanship
The Chess Club under the aegis of Students' Affairs, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, proudly hosted the Chess Champions 2K25 tournament on March 21, 2025. This highly anticipated event provided a platform for chess enthusiasts from diverse academic disciplines to engage in a friendly yet intellectually stimulating competition.
With over 200 students from various departments of all the Schools of DSU participated in the tournament fostered a spirit of healthy rivalry and strategic thinking. The competition was structured into five rounds, allowing players to advance based on their consistent performance. This format ensured a fair and competitive playing field, where the most skilled and strategic minds progressed to the final stage.
Winners were determined through a comprehensive evaluation of their cumulative performance across all rounds. Beyond the competition, the event aimed to promote intellectual engagement, social interaction and a fun-filled atmosphere. It successfully cultivated a lively and enriching experience, reinforcing the values of sportsmanship, mental agility and campus camaraderie.
The success of Chess Champions 2K25 was made possible through the esteemed leadership and support of the Chief Patron, Shri A. Srinivasan, Chancellor, DSU; Patron, Smt. Ananthalakshmi Kathiravan, Pro-Chancellor, DSU; Programme Advisors, Dr. Dhanasekaran Devaraj, Registrar, DSU & Dr. J. Mathana, Dean of Academics, DSU.
The event was convened by Prof. Dr. R. Vijayalakshmi, Students’ Affairs in-charge and expertly organized by Mr. Chandramohan, Chess Club Coordinator, along with dedicated student coordinators.
More than just a competition, Chess Champions 2K25 celebrated the art of chess, strengthened interdepartmental connections and nurtured a culture of strategic thinking and healthy competition on campus.
