Legal Frameworks and Gender Equality - 20th September 2024
The Gender Champions Club under the Aegis of Division of Students Affairs and School of Pharmacy, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Trichy jointly organized a guest lecture on "Legal Frameworks and Gender Equality" on 20th September 2024 between 11.00-12.30 pm. The program began with Thamizhthai Vazhthu, followed by a Welcome address by Mrs. V. Kavitha, Assistant Professor, School of Pharmacy. The chief guest Ms. T. Banumathi M.A.,B.L. Senior Advocate, President of Tamil Nadu Women Advocates Progressive Association was honored by Dr. S. Akilandeswari, Dean of the School of Pharmacy and Dr. Pathma J, Associate Dean, Students’ Affairs with a shawl and a memento. The resource person Ms. T. Banumathi, addressed important areas including gender equality, social justice, and women's rights, as well as the impact of legal frameworks on society in promoting gender equality. The session concluded with a Q&A segment where student inquiries were addressed. A student representative from the Gender Champions Club delivered a vote of thanks, followed by the national anthem. Nearly 250 students from various schools within DSU and 16 faculty members participated and benefited from the event. The event was organised by Mrs. V. Kavitha and Dr. R. Sathiyapriya, member and Nodal teacher of Gender Champions club of DSU respectively.
