Eye Care Day - 16th May 2024
The "EYE CARE DAY" Programme was organized by the Department of Optometry, School of Allied Health Sciences, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan university, Samayapuram, Trichy, on the theme of "Deterrents for Seeking eye care" on 16th May 2024 in Lecture hall II 3rd floor, between 2.30pm to 4.00 pm.
The programme commenced with the uplifting notes “TAMIL THAI VALZTHU”, followed by lamp lighting by the dignitaries and chief guest.
- The presence of esteemed dignitaries further elevated the event Vice Chancellor Dr. C.K. Ranjan, Registrar Dr.Dhanasekaran Devaraj, Dr. A. Thulasi Dean of Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, Prof.A.Pechiammal, Dean, School of Paramedical Sciences, Dr.S. Akilandeswari, Dean, School of Pharmacy, Dr. Prakash, Controller of Examinations, Dr. K. Rekha, Associate Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences, Dr. J. Gnanaselvan , Professor and Head, Department of Ophthalmology, Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, who lent their support and time and reinforced the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation. The event drew a diverse audience comprising faculty and students from the school of Allied Health Sciences.
- Ms. Malavika Third Year Optometry Student Addressed & welcomed the gathering present.
- Dr. J. Gnanaselvan, Professor and Head, Department of Ophthalmology, Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital gave the presidential address. He created an impact on the importance of Eye care Day.
- Dr. K. Rekha, Associate Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences felicitated our chief guest, Dr. Gopinath Madeswaran, M.Optom., Ph.D.,FBDO (UK) and presented a memento as a token of gratitude.
- The students of I Year Optometry performed the mesmerising welcome dance.
- Ms. Jeevika, II Year Department of optometry delivered chief guest introduction.
- Our chief guest, Dr. Gopinath Madeswaran delivered guest lecture on the topic of "Deterrents for Seeking eye care". Students of Optometry gain knowledge about various Eye Care and its stages. His lecture helped the attendees understand the diagnosis and treatment of Refractive errors and Eye Safety.
- Additionally, an Eye safety fashion Walk was done by the Optometry students which provided how to keep our eyes sound and safe.
- The team of I year optometry students presented their model and Ms. Malavika III Year optometry student presented her case presentation on the topic of Vitamin A Deficiency.
- Finally, the vote of thanks was given by Ms. Priyavadhana I Year department of Optometry. Followed the event ended with the National Anthem.
