LEPROSY DAY - 30th-January-2023
On the occasion of Leprosy day held on 30th January, 2023 Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University School of Physiotherapy Students, attended a one day Orientation program at The Leprosy Mission Hospital, Vadathorasalur, Kallakurichi District, Tamil Nadu. Dr Helen G Roberts, Director of TLM Leprosy mission gave the detailed lecture about leprosy. The students visited the vocational training centers , and had the wonderful opportunity to ask the patients about their life experiences and developed empathy for those affected by leprosy. The hands on program was conducted by physiotherapist Mr. VijayKumar and Mrs. Maheswari, Counsellor helped students to assess the patients and gave the practical knowledge diagnosing patients suffering from leprosy.
As part of the Leprosy day celebration students are voluntarily sponsored the lunch to the Leprosy patients.
The vote of thanks was given by staff coordinator Prof .N N.Bobby, HOD, School of Physiotherapy.
At the end of the day , the students received certificates to commemorate the event and Sympathized with the patients.
