The workshop on "Building Employability Skillset" was held on 31st October 2023, organized by the Department of English, School of Engineering and Technology, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Tiruchirappalli. The main objective of the workshop is to enhance the knowledge of the students about the various employability opportunities and develop the right skills to use the opportunities. Dr. V.K. Karthika, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, was invited as the guest speaker for the workshop.
The workshop began with an overwhelmingly warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Sanjay Singh, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, followed by the chief guest introduction delivered by Mrs. R. Shobia, Associate Professor and Head, the Department of English, School of Engineering and Technology.
Dr. V.K. Karthika started the workshop with a PowerPoint presentation, which has some keywords like, Critical Thinking, use of the opportunity, courage, right communication, teamwork, etc. She gave various activities to students to help them better understand the importance of those keywords. Throughout the workshop, she insists on those key points through various stories, movie clips, and beautiful stories from Greek mythology.
This workshop helped the students toenhance their knowledge of "Building Employability Skillset" as these days there are lots of cases of employability. We are quite sure that this interactive workshop would make the students aware of this particular segment.
At the end of the program, a few studentsgave their feedback, on how they benefited. At the end, Mr. D. Shiyam Ganesh, Assistant Professor, Department of English, School of Engineering and Technology delivered a vote of thanks to those who have been involved directly and indirectly in the resounding success of the workshop.
