CME - Fundamentals of Stem Cells & Its Application - 2023

The Department of Anatomy, Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), Dhanlakshmi Srinivasan University (DSU) organised a CME titled “Fundamentals of Regenerative Medicine and its Application” on 12/04/2023. Dr. P. Ramachandran, Plastic Surgeon and Director of Trichy Institute of Regenerative Medicine spoke on the basics of Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Ravichandran Doraiswamy, Professor and Head, Department of Anatomy, SMCH and Associate Dean, Students Welfare, DSU spoke on the related Anatomical and Embryological aspects of stem cells.

The evolution of stem cell therapy, the source of stem cells, methods to prepare stem cells and its use in various areas like diabetic foot management, trauma related skin loss treatment, skin care and cancer treatment were discussed in the CME. About 200 participants including faculty members and medical students were present. The CME was accredited by the TN Medical Council.
