“National Unity Day”
National Unity Day is celebrated every year on 31st October to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The reason behind the celebration of this day is to make people aware of the ideas of staying together and uplifting society.
India is a vibrant and diverse nation with many people of different castes and religions, speaking different languages are living together in complete harmony. National unity is significant for construction of a complete nation with the aim of “One India, Excellent India”. The Iron man of India Shri Vallabh Bhai Patel “Manpower without Unity is not a strength unless it is harmonized and united properly, then it becomes a spiritual power”.
This year marks the 147th birth anniversary of the freedom fighter and a top politician.Sardar Patel played a major role in the integration of India from over 560 huge states. To acknowledge his efforts in uniting the nation, India celebrates National Unity Day on his birth anniversary.
Several events are organised on this day like ‘Run For Unity’ - a nationwide marathon, Quiz, Debattes, Video Screening to increase awareness about the contribution of Sardar Patel to National integrity.
In the ‘Run for Unity’ event around 200 Students, Staff members and Physical Directors enthusiastically participated in a short rally marathon around the premise of the University to evoke the spirit of integrity.
The Honourable Vice chancellor Air Marshal Dr C K Ranjan inaugurated this event with flag off and addressed the gathering.The Respected Registrar Dr. M. Ravichandran motivated the students and delivered the speech.The Beloved Dean Dr. Sanjay Singh, School of Engineening and Technology also participated in the marathon along with students. Dr.P.Geetha, Associate Professor/ECE organized this event along with Physical Directors. At the end of this event, all Dignitaries, Faculties and students took selfie and group photos.
EXHIBITION
On this auspicious day, our students exhibited their talents by presenting the Posters, Video screening, Speech and Power Point Presentation in the presence of Honourable Vice chancellor, Registrar and Dean. The Honourable Vice chancellor Air Marshal Dr C K Ranjan concluded his speech on National Integration and life story of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The Programme ended with heartfelt and motivational messages about maintaining peace and togetherness among our nation's residents as well as national security and community harmony.This will go a long way toward transforming our big, diversified country into a great one with the potential to become a superpower.
