Application of Machine Learning in Mechanical Engineering
The workshop aimed to develop predictive models that forecast production volumes based on variables such as demand patterns, available capacity and operational constraints in various area.
Innovation Program Organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering A technical seminar on “Application of Machine Learning in Mechanical Engineering” was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering& Technology, DSU on 29/11/2024 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m at Hall no 402, SET,DSU. The resource person was Mr. Govindaraj Venugopal, Data Science Architect – Solution Engineer Manager, Mphasis Limited – Bangalore.
Dr. Shankar Duraikannan, Dean/SET, welcome the gathering. Dr. G. M. Balamurugan, Professor and HOD/Mechanical Engineering introduced the resource person. Dr. B. Ramesh, Associate Dean/SET given felicitation and Dr. Sasi kumar Associate Dean/SET, given note for current trends about AI.
The resource person Mr. Govindaraj Venugopal clearly explained Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence (ML & AI) is used in Mechanical engineering, Agriculture and EEE sectors such as Product development (Generative shape design, Complex FEA & FVM problem solving, Design optimization), Process efficiency improvement (quality control, utilization, demand & supply prediction), Predictive maintenance and During training, the machine learning algorithm is optimized to find certain patterns or outputs from the dataset, depending on the task. The output of this process - often a computer program with specific rules and data structures.
This seminar session was aimed to provide awareness about how to use machine learning in various functional core areas. Technical seminar participants around 10 faculties and 80 students from varous departments actively participated in the program. Dr.M.Manickam Assistant Professor/Mechanical Engineering delivered the vote of thanks.
