NDLi Club & Readers Club - 23 October 2024
The Central Library of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Samayapuram, Trichy, inaugurated the NDLi Club and Readers Club, under the Division of Students’ Affairs, with the guidance of Dr. C.K. Ranjan, Vice Chancellor and Dr. Dhanasekaran Devaraj, Registrar on 23rd October 2024. The inaugural session started with Thamizh Thai Vazhthu at 10.00 am in lecture hall 1, Academic Block, followed by lamp lighting.
Ms. K. Subashini, Librarian, Non-Medical and coordinator, NDLi club welcomed the gathering. Dr. Pathma J, Associate Dean of Students' Affairs offered Presidential address highlighting the importance of digital learning resources in the current era and its benefits to students, teaching and research community. She also emphasized the importance of cultivating the habit of reading books. Dr. G. Sasikumar, Associate Dean, SET honored the resource person Mr. L Mohammad Abbas, Librarian, MAM College of Engineering and Technology, Trichy with a memento. This was followed by the inauguration of the clubs by the resource person after which he delivered a lecture on the topic "Source the Resources" in which he sensitized the gathering regarding the digital learning resources available and the importance and benefits of reading books. He also demonstrated about enrolment and use of National Digital Library of India (NDLi) platform. This was followed by the prize distribution session, in which prizes were distributed to students who participated in various competitions held by Electoral Literacy and English Literary club under the aegis of Students’ Affairs. Dr. Chozhan, Dean, School of Agricultural Sciences graced the event and distributed the prizes to the winners. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. S. Sudha, Librarian Medical and Paramedical and coordinator, Readers club followed by National Anthem. A total of 200 students and 20 staff members benefitted from the event. The event was successfully organized by the club coordinators backed up by their team from the library.
