ICC Awareness Rally on - 15th Dec 2023

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the university conducted a significant awareness rally on 15th December 2023, from 12 Noon to 1.30 p.m. The event aimed to promote awareness about gender equality, safety, and respect for women in the workplace. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from 180 students representing various schools of the university, accompanied by faculty members. The rally commenced at 12 noon at the portico of Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital. Dr. V. Thamil Selvi, Chairperson of ICC, extended a warm welcome to all participants and provided insights into the functioning of the ICC. Dr. A. Thulasi, Dean of Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, officially flagged off the rally at 12.05 p.m. The rally proceeded through different blocks of the university, covering medical, hospital, engineering, law, paramedical, nursing, physiotherapy, agriculture science, and allied health science. Participants carried placards emphasizing key themes such as equality, awareness, respect, protection, raising voice, nonviolence, empowerment, unity, dignity, and safety for women in the workplace. The event coincided with lunchtime, attracting the attention of students, staff, and workers within the campus. Spectators, including visitors and workers, had the opportunity to witness the rally, increasing its visibility and impact. Dr. Oviya, a faculty member of the ICC, expressed gratitude to all participants, acknowledging their support and commitment. The event effectively promoted the message of gender equality, awareness, and a safe working environment for women within the university.
