On 28th July, a awareness program related to "WORLD HEPATITIS DAY" was organized at the prestigious Srinivasan Medical college and Hospital, Samayapuram, Trichy which was attended by esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, patients and their relatives. The function was organized by College of Nursing with the aim of creating awareness about the Hepatitis B transmission and their prevention.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Radhakumari, MD, Professor and Head Department of Microbiology, as the Chief Guest. Dean of Srinivasan Medical College Dr. Thulasi, Dean of Paramedical Prof. A. Pechiammal, Faculties from the Nursing and Physiotherapy were present at the event.
The event began with the welcome address by the Ms. Sijina. This was followed by an inspiring speech by the chief guest Dr. Radhakumari, MD gave speech regarding prevention of Hepatitis B and encouraged the students to take active participation to create awareness among patient and Hospital Health care workers.
The event include various activities such as villu pattu, mime and skit which were organized in Hospital wards, to promote awareness among patients and their relatives. Towards the end of the function Discussion session was done with Faculties.
Finally the vote of thanks was given by Ms. Berline Mersha. The function was a grand success, thanks to effort of organizing committee and the enthusiastic participation of the students and faculty members.
In conclusion, the function related to world Hepatitis day organized by Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, college of Nursing, Trichy was great step towards promoting sustainable practice and creating awareness about the importance of Hepatitis vaccine. The presence of esteemed dignitaries and the active participation of students. The university hopes to continue its effort promoting sustainable practice and contributing to a hepatitis free future. During the day of event nearly about 350 students have taken vaccination as role model for the public.
